ANCIENT VINES ZINFANDEL
RED | SEXY WITH SUBSTANCE:
This is the Zinfandel to win over any sceptic. If you’ve always wondered about Zinfandel - start here.
WHAT WE TASTE:
Spicy strawberries and vanilla
Pairs beautifully with red meat, as well as spice - think Korean BBQ beef, burgers, or even Moroccan lamb.
Perfect at room temperature, if it’s a bit hot outside, don’t be scared to put it in the fridge for 10 minutes.
Fred Cline learned a love for farming from his grandfather Valeriano Jacuzzi at their ranch in Oakley. This area in Contra Costa County was a center for immigrants who planted some of the original grapevines. After bringing these forgotten vines back to life, Fred and his friend Bobby Cannard developed The Green String method of “beyond sustainable” farming. Students at Green String learn how to respect the earth and respond to the needs of their environment as they raise food that brought health to local populations. So they preserve the past and protect the land for the future. We love them.
OUR FAVE THING ABOUT THIS WINE:
Fred set about restoring vines that run deep in sandy soils. These rare vines, some well over a 100 years old, form the backbone for this fantastic Ancient Vines Zinfandel.
