WHAT WE TASTE
Lychees, peaches and a dash of refreshing bitterness (think gin & tonic)

PERFECT PAIRING
Top tip from the winemaker here – try it with a salty grilled fish then try it with something more subtly seasoned and see the difference

ABOUT REVERIE

Jacques de Klerk, viticulturist and winemaker at Radford Dale by day, makes tiny batches of Chenin and Pinotage under his own brand, Reverie – started the year his first daughter was born. Reverie is an exploration of old vineyard sites, old winemaking styles and an old school passion for experimenting with the potential of familiar grapes to be something completely different.

OUR FAVE THING ABOUT THIS WINE
Texture! This wine is made from a vineyard planted in 1978 – so the grapes it produces are pretty small, meaning there’s quite a high skin to juice ratio. Jacques lets the juice spend a bit of time with the skins, giving the wine a bit more texture than you’d find on a typical white wine.
THE TECHNICAL STUFF
Place: Paardeberg, Swartland, South Africa
Grape: Chenin Blanc
Style: Refreshing
Ingredients: Grapes, a dash of SO2 + a little Bentonite (a clay-based product used to get any excess bits out of the wine)
