ABOUT GRACE WINE: At one of the first wineries in Japan’s leading wine region, 5th generation Ayana Misawa is doing a top job of showcasing her father’s most beloved native Japanese grape, Koshu. Apparently studying wine on 3 continents teaches you a thing or two about making the good stuff!
OUR FAVE THING ABOUT THIS WINE: Yamanashi has a problem that’s not common in wine regions – too much rain (usually, winemakers are battling just the opposite). To help protect the grapes from getting wet and mouldy, it’s common practice in the region to put a little ‘umbrella’ on each bunch of grapes! Now, isn’t that the cutest darn wine thing you ever did hear?
THE TECHNICAL STUFF: Place: Yamanashi Prefecture, Japan Grape: Koshu Style: Light as a breeze
