Book Club: Eleanor Oliphant is Completely Fine by Gail Honeyman
This month, Fifi shares one of her fave recent reads:
About the book:
This book is exactly what the title says it is. A novel about a girl who is completely fine. She has a routine, a job, and a weekly call with mummy. People think she’s a little odd, and sure she is socially awkward, and a bit of a loner, but she is fine. Then she sees the man of her dreams and decides to go for it.
A bit about the author:
This is the debut book by Scottish author Gail Honeyman. Published in 2018, I think fans are all waiting to find out what might be next!
Why we’re crushing on this read:
I had heard this book recommended several times before finally reading it last month.
It was without a doubt one of the most charming books I have ever read. Written from Eleanor’s perspective, the reader is completely immersed in her thought process. I often found myself talking to her, trying to coach her through her conversations and interactions. It really brings you through the gamut of emotions – joy, fear, hope, sadness, frustration, you name it. There are various story strands that thread their way through the book making it hard to put down, highly recommended!
