Book Club: Taste: My Life Through Food by Stanley Tucci

Are we sad about two pictures of Stanley Tucci featured above? We are not. Are we sad about anything in this book? Mostly, we're just envious, really.

About the book:

This one does what it says on the tin - it follows Stanley on his lifelong journey with food, interspersed with traditional family recipes and less-conventional food and drink inventions from Tucci himself.

A bit about the author:

We've probably all seen Stanley Tucci in something - between E.R., The Devil Wears Prada, Easy A and even Miami Vice, Tucci has been an on-screen staple for over two decades now, more recently turning his hand to travel & cooking shows.

Why we’re crushing on this read:

A foodie book that's not too foodie. No need to know much about mise en place!

It's witty, it's a joyful, it's even a little catty from time to time and there are plenty of great moments of name-dropping some top-class TV and movie names. It's a heartwarming read about how important food can be within a family and amongst friends all across the world. It's the golden thread that's woven through what Stanley gratefully admits has been an exceptionally beautiful life. And it has recipes! Win!
