Reverie was Jacques de Klerk’s delicious detour from the mainstream - a small, personal wine project born out of a desire to make wines that were drinkable, refreshing, and joyfully unpretentious. At a time when bold, extracted styles dominated the scene, Jacques leaned into low-intervention winemaking with native yeasts, minimal oak, and a light touch. He kicked things off with a bright, textured Chenin Blanc, later adding a juicy, chillable Pinotage, and one vintage of cool-climate organic Chardonnay.
The project has since been wound down as Jacques shifted gears professionally, but Reverie remains a snapshot of a winemaker following his instincts and making wines that felt good to drink and even better to share.
